Fade In
INT. – OUTSIDE MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
MRS CLARK is marching down the corridor, towards MR BROWN’S classroom. FROSTY is following closely behind her. He is wearing his school uniform and his rucksack is on his back. A t-shirt is visible from the top of his shirt and his sleeves are rolled up.
MRS CLARK (furiously)
I’ve told you time and time again to wear your uniform appropriately and you’re still not doing it! One of these days you’re going to learn that rules are made to be followed. Not the other way around.
FROSTY rolls his eyes. MRS CLARK stops outside MR BROWN’S classroom. She knocks on the door, then opens it.

INT. – MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
MRS CLARK leads FROSTY inside the room. They see that MR BROWN is slumped over the top of his desk, mumbling quietly to himself. He has a scruffy appearance.
MRS CLARK
Mr Brown.
MR BROWN
(sits up, facing them) Huh?
MRS CLARK
We have another young offender who needs to be taught to follow the rules. (faces FROSTY) Don’t let me catch you breaking rules again.
FROSTY smiles at MRS CLARK, who turns and walks out of the room. She closes the door behind herself.
FROSTY
(faces MR BROWN) Sir.
MR BROWN gets to his feet. He stumbles towards FROSTY. He loses his balance and falls to the floor. Within seconds, he snores.

FROSTY (sighing)
Great.
FROSTY walks to MR BROWN’S desk. He looks underneath it and sees an empty bottle of vodka and six empty cans of beer. He shakes his head disapprovingly.

INT. – SCHOOL CORRIDOR – MORNING
TY and ANGELICA are standing in the corridor, laughing and joking with each other. JENNIFER is standing at the far end of the corridor, staring at them. Her jealousy rising.

INT. – SCHOOL RECEPTION – MORNING
MRS CLARK is sitting behind the reception counter, reading a book. MR SNOW walks inside the room with a briefcase in his hands. He walks towards his office.
MR SNOW
I think I misjudged Ty. He’s really settled down now that he’s with Angelica.
MRS CLARK
Frosty’s in detention again. He’s not wearing uniform like he is supposed to.
MR SNOW walks inside his office. He places the briefcase on the desk, then he walks back out of the room.
MR SNOW
What do you have against him, may I ask? Ever since he started the school, you’ve been picking faults with everything he’s done.

INT. – MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
FROSTY is sitting on top of MR BROWN’S desk, staring at MR BROWN, who is laying on the floor asleep. FROSTY brings out his phone and scrolls through his contacts until he reaches RORY’S number. He rings it. RORY answers the phone.
FROSTY
Hey. Do you mind coming down? I’ve got a problem.

INT. – SCHOOL LIBRARY – MORNING
SKY, TY and ANGELICA are sitting at a table, talking quietly to each other. They each have their exercise books in front of them to make it look like they are working.
SKY
I don’t know if going out with Frosty is the right thing. I mean, he’s funny, nice, affectionate...
ANGELICA
(interrupts SKY) He’s hot.
SKY
I just don’t know if all that will change if we started dating.
ANGELICA
You don’t have to rush into things straight away. Take things slow. If he really likes you, he’ll stick around.
SKY
(faces TY) You better not tell him a single word of this.
TY
My lips are sealed.

INT. – MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
FROSTY is walking slowly up and down the room. He takes the occasional glance at MR BROWN, who is still asleep on the floor. The classroom door opens and RORY steps inside the room. He closes the door behind himself.
RORY
(looks at MR BROWN) What happened to him?
FROSTY
Let’s say he chose the wrong time of day to start drinking. (pauses) He needs to go to the medical room.

INT. – SCHOOL RECEPTION – MORNING
MR SNOW is standing with his back against his office door. MRS CLARK comes into the room with a mug of coffee

in her hands. She hands it to MR SNOW, who takes a mouthful of it.
MR SNOW
Maybe I ought to speak with Frosty. He doesn’t deserve to be in detention.
MR SNOW walks towards the door.
MRS CLARK
I wouldn’t do that, Tom. It’s undermining my authority.
MR SNOW
(faces MRS CLARK) It’s your authority that concerns me, Beatrice.
MR SNOW turns and walks out of the room.

INT. – MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
FROSTY and RORY stand on either side of MR BROWN, who is still asleep on the floor. They lift MR BROWN to his feet.
RORY (struggling)
God, he weighs a ton.
FROSTY and RORY walk MR BROWN towards the door.
MR BROWN (mumbling)
I don’t wanna go home.
FROSTY
It’s all right, sir. You’re not going home.
MR BROWN
Daddy, is that you?
RORY opens the classroom door.
Cut to
INT. – OUTSIDE MR BROWN’S CLASSROOM – MORNING
FROSTY and RORY walk MR BROWN out of the room. FROSTY kicks the door shut. They then walk down the corridor. They turn a corner, just as MR SNOW walks down the corridor, towards MR BROWN’S classroom. He has the mug of coffee in his hands.

The classroom door opens and MR SNOW steps inside the room.
MR SNOW
Frosty? (realises that the room is empty) Hmm. That’s strange.
MR SNOW turns and walks out of the room. He closes the door behind himself.
Cut to
INT. – SCHOOL MEDICAL ROOM – MORNING
FROSTY and RORY lay MR BROWN onto the sickbed. They stare at him.
RORY
Do you think the school knows about his drinking?
FROSTY
Dunno. But it’s not for us to worry about.
Cut to
INT. – OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL MEDICAL ROOM – MORNING
FROSTY and RORY walk out of the room. They jump when they see MR SNOW standing outside the room. He has the mug of coffee in his hands.
MR SNOW
Frosty, I’ve been looking everywhere for you. Where’s Mr Brown?
FROSTY looks at RORY, then back at MR SNOW.
FROSTY
He was feeling rough. Said he needed a lay-down.
RORY nods in agreement.
MR SNOW
Surely he should be at home.
FROSTY
He should, but I don’t think he’s in a position to drive at the moment.

INT. – OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL HALL – MORNING
SIMON and ROSIE are standing outside the hall. SIMON peers inside the hall while ROSIE shakes herself out from the nerves.
SIMON
(faces ROSIE) Are you sure you want to do this?
ROSIE (nervously)
I don’t know. (pauses) Do I look okay?
SIMON
You look great.
Cut to
INT. – SCHOOL HALL – MORNING
STEVEN, eighteen, is standing at the front of the room, talking to JEROME, sixteen, and HANNAH, seventeen, who are sitting in front of him. There are a few spare chairs around them. The hall door opens and SIMON and ROSIE walk inside the room. They all turn to face them.
STEVEN (smiling)
New people. Welcome.
ROSIE
Hi.
STEVEN
This is Hannah and Jerome.
JEROME and HANNAH acknowledge SIMON and ROSIE.
STEVEN (continued)
I’m Steven, head gay.
SIMON
Pardon?
ROSIE
Wow. That’s cool.
STEVEN
You guys are?
ROSIE

(suddenly realises) Oh. I’m Rosie, and this is my friend, Simon.
STEVEN
Come. Take a seat.
SIMON and ROSIE sit next to each other. JEROME winks at SIMON, who smiles awkwardly.
STEVEN (continued)
So now we’ve got the introductions out of the way, let’s talk! Anyone have any stories they wish to share?
ROSIE
(raises her hand) I do.
STEVEN
Rosie!
ROSIE
Deep down, I’ve always known that I was gay, but I’ve been too embarrassed to admit it. I don’t know why. But now I’ve started telling people and it feels great.
They all clap at ROSIE, who blushes slightly. The room falls silent.
STEVEN
Just to let you all know, there’s a party tonight. You can come get your gay on. (faces SIMON) Especially you.
SIMON
I’m not...
ROSIE
(interrupts SIMON) We’ll be there.

INT. – SCHOOL CANTEEN – AFTERNOON
FROSTY and JENNIFER are sitting at a table. FROSTY is eating a sandwich. TY and ANGELICA can be seen queuing for their lunch.
JENNIFER
(looks across to TY and ANGELICA) Look at them. Always spending time with each other.
FROSTY

They are going out.
JENNIFER
Not for much longer. The person who splits them up gets to do anything they want to me.
FROSTY
Why me?
JENNIFER
You’re close to Ty. Or you could go for her.
FROSTY
(smirks) I’ll have to think about it.
JENNIFER
Hurry. I’m not a patient girl. (sees TY and ANGELICA walking towards them) Heads up.
JENNIFER gets to her feet and she walks away. FROSTY throws the rest of his sandwich in the bin as TY and ANGELICA sit at the table. They each have a sandwich and drink in their hands. FROSTY winks at ANGELICA.

INT. – STEVEN’S LIVING ROOM – EVENING
Music is playing loudly inside the room. There are several drunken teens dancing to the music. There are same sex couples making out around the room.
STEVEN and HANNAH are standing in the corner of the room, talking to each other. They each have a can of beer in their hands, which they are drinking from. SIMON and ROSIE walk inside the room. They are bewildered by what they see.
SIMON
Whoa.
STEVEN
(walks towards SIMON and ROSIE) Heya. I’m glad you guys could make it. Just to let you know that beers are in the kitchen. If you need anything else, come find me.
ROSIE
Thanks.
STEVEN turns and walks away. He talks with another teen. HANNAH walks over to SIMON and ROSIE.

Hey.

Hi.
SIMON
I’ll go get you a drink.
SIMON walks towards the door. STEVEN watches SIMON as he walks out of the room.

INT. – STEVEN’S KITCHEN – EVENING
SIMON opens the fridge and brings out two cans of beer. He closes the fridge door as STEVEN walks inside the room.
SIMON
(faces STEVEN) Cool party.
STEVEN
I was thinking. You and I should have a little fun.
FROSTY comes up behind STEVEN and rests his hand on his shoulder.
FROSTY
Hands off, Steven. He’s mine.
STEVEN
(sighs) The best ones are always taken.
STEVEN walks out of the room. SIMON hands a can of beer to FROSTY.
SIMON
Cheers for getting rid of him.
FROSTY
Not a problem.
FROSTY opens the can of beer and takes a mouthful of it.

INT. – STEVEN’S HALLWAY – EVENING
ROSIE and HANNAH are sitting on the stairs, talking to

each other. HANNAH has a can of beer in her hands. The music can be heard playing inside the living room.
ROSIE
It’s the first time I’ve ever been to a place like this. I’d normally be reading or doing coursework.
HANNAH
I’ve been to quite a few of these now. Steven throws a party once every couple of weeks. They’re really good. You should come more often.
ROSIE
(smiles) I might just have to.
HANNAH
Oh, that reminds me. A club in town. They have a gay night once a month. You could be my date.
